Overview
THE SOOT MAN is a grounded, character-driven horror thriller that blends supernatural dread with brutal human violence.
Kat, a woman on the edge of survival, accepts a last-minute cleaning job at an isolated Victorian house owned by Edith, an eccentric recluse obsessed with a local legend known as The Soot Man—a charred, skeletal figure said to emerge from fireplaces and burned-out rooms to punish the morally corrupt.
What begins as an uncomfortable but ordinary job quickly spirals into terror when Kat discovers the house is not only steeped in tragic history, but is also the hiding place for stolen money sought by a crew of dangerous criminals. As paranoia, greed, and violence erupt inside the mansion, the line between superstition and reality collapses.
The Soot Man does not hunt indiscriminately.
It waits.
It judges.
And as the night descends into bloodshed, it becomes clear that the entity is awakened not by fire—but by sin.
